Contemporary Archeology on the Olinda Coast

This site brings together three essays about the coastal ruins of the city of Olinda, each accompanied by a virtual photo gallery.

From the researcher and art historian Beatriz Arcoverde, an essay about her research on ruinophilia and appreciation of ruins in modern times.

From anthropologist and photographer Daniel Pereira, a text on ruins and their precedents in analog and archival images.

From researcher Ted Greiner, a text about his collection of archeological pieces and sea glass found on the beaches of Olinda.

All photos and photo galleries are by Daniel Pereira. This project was made possible with the incentive of the Aldir Blanc Law of the city of Olinda and a partnership between the researchers and the Public Archive of the city.
